About the Club

Old Camberwell Grammarians Soccer Club was established in 1984, resides at Deepdene Park on Whitehorse Road in Balwyn. The club was originally formulated to provide an avenue for Camberwell Grammar students post schooling years to stay connected and enjoy the 'world game' in an enthusiastic club environment.

Originally the club fielded a Seniors and Reserves team in the Victorian Amateur Soccer Association and later competed in the FV State League 4. Following the disbanding of the club as a result of the pandemic, some recent graduates decided it was time to pick up the baton. They weren’t willing to let the history, the spirit, and the pride of the club disappear. OCGSC was revived and began competing in the VCFA.

The club has always maintained strong ties with Camberwell Grammar, and this year the tradition was resurrected, playing a friendly game against the school’s First XI on Open Day. The Taliadoros Schwab Cup was awarded to OCGSC in the first year of the club’s return (named after two distinguished Camberwell Grammarians, Kimon Taliadoros (1985) and Brendan Schwab (1985)). This annual fixture not only celebrates the shared history but also provides students with a pathway to continue their involvement in soccer beyond their school years.

The club has prided itself on its ability to grow and promote an environment where the game can be enjoyed, embodying its values of respect, inclusivity and integrity.
